| Is Mississippi Minuteman part of the "Minuteman Project" that is working to protect the border? No, we are not a part of the Minuteman Project. We certainly support the efforts of the Minutemen, however, and commend them for stepping up and trying to do what the government isn't doing. The MMP is an excellent example of patriotic Americans getting organized and making a difference, just like Mississippi Minuteman is doing. What is Mississippi Minuteman? Mississippi Minuteman is a self-preparedness group. We are a grass roots organization made up primarily of Mississippians, though we have some members from out-of-state. We are dedicated to reaching out to our fellow Mississippians to inform them of what's happening in our country and the potential dangers, both natural and man-made, that threaten our families, communities and nation; and to make those preparations that will most likely guarantee our survival should disaster strike. For more information about us, please go here. Are you a religious group?? America was founded upon Christian principles and ideals. The nation has strayed away from those roots and the result is widespread immorality and social ills. While Mississippi Minuteman is a Christian organization, we welcome all people, regardless of their religion, who acknowledge faith in God and share our desire to see America restored to it's moral foundation. What does it cost to join Mississippi Minuteman? There are no membership fees to belong to Mississippi Minuteman. We appreciate members chipping in their fair share to cover expenses when they can, but money should never be an obstacle to participation. I am sixteen years old, can I join? We are a family oriented organization and we feel it's just as important for children and teenagers to be informed about what's going on around them, as it is for adults. It's also never too early to teach a child what to do in an emergency and how to be safe. Children and teenagers have lots of ideas to contribute too! We do, however, require that members under the age of 18 be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Mississippi Minuteman also abides by state law regarding minors and firearms. | I am retired and physically disabled. Can I be a part of Mississippi Minuteman? There is a place for all law-abiding citizens in Mississippi Minuteman regardless of age and physical limitations. Everyone has some talent or knowledge or experience that they can share and everyone needs to be prepared to survive. |
